We have mostly all seen the scene in which Topper Harley get the highest body count in movie history in Hot Shots 2. Bu I would like to request a count for that movie and get to know exactly how much is his count sice he's the one doing most of the killing.
And I would have a question about the counting technique. Let's say in a movie we are told that a building contains 50 civilians and that the building is suddenly destroyed to ashes by a missile or anything, does it still count as a 50 body count or do the dead bodies have to be seen?
thanks

Bu I would like to request a count for that movie and get to know exactly how much is his count sice he's the one doing most of the killing. I've never seen Hot Shots 2, strangely enough (considering the 1000+ action films I've seen), but I strongly doubt that the scene would get the highest body count based on the counting methods of this site. We don't consider everyone punched in the face by Superman to be dead, for example. If anyone's got Hot Shots 2, could they do a count? And if not, I'll get around to renting it. From the counting guidelines: As a general rule, if you're told something but you never see any evidence of it, don't count it. For your example, I hope this covers everything: - If you saw a shot inside the building while the missile was on the way, and you were told there were no survivors, you'd count the amount of people you can see in that shot while the missile is coming in. - If you saw a shot after the missile hit which had bodies in it, count it, but it's probably wise NOT to add it to the shot beforehand because the chance of it being the same actors on screen both times is quite high. Pick whichever one is higher, unless you can clearly tell the actors apart and work out which ones are doubled and which ones are only in one or the other scene. - If you never see any people actually in the building, then obviously you don't count any. Likewise, if you see them burning to a crisp or flying out the window to be impaled on a flag pole, count that. Hope this clears things up.

Actually I was taking a few moments off of redesigning the Equilibrium site to do one of the pages here when I stumbled on to this thread...

Ok, I've tried to make a count but this film is problematic. Problematic in the way that being a comedy it takes liberties with the genre of action movies and the kills. For example there's a scene where Topper Harley runs out of ammo and facing some 10 guards or so he takes a handful of bullets, throws them at the guards and they all 'die' - not explictly shown since being a comedy but they are normally dead...there are other things like that and that makes it quite difficult to count actually. So if someone more knowledgeable in the ways of the body count could do it it would be best.

Those guards hit by thrown bullets would not be counted. When I rent my next batch of movies (probably Thursday), I'll see if I can get my hands on it.

ok.
but there is one moment in the movie where the guards are fired upon and when fallign they make overexaggerated gestures of being hit by bullets...anyway...
I really hope someone would get teh count, even though I'm not so certain that it will get higher than 50 - 60
