I didn't bring my dvds back from home for exams so I can't doublecheck this.
I think it says something in the paper about just the kids being saved, though.

Wiki says otherwise but i can't trust it. David follows him back to the house, where he finds the dead man. Upstairs, he releases the two tied-up daughters, and finds the mother in a separate room, apparently unconscious. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unbreakable

I doublechecked my DVD. In the scene where the son is having breakfast at the end with Bruce Willis, Willis hands him the paper which says: '"Hero" Rescues two children; Parents found dead in house'

According to the screenplay, the mother is unconscious.

According to the screenplay, the mother is unconscious. We do not go by the Screenplays here or outside sources. Unless a film states otherwise we will count them as kills (same with Children of Men but note that there is a dispute about it.)
