Hi all, I just registered but have been checking this site for a long time now.
I'd like to start adding some movies myself but I had a question before I start.
How do you deal with deaths that are shown, perhaps even including blood, but turn out to be fake or planned?
An example of what I mean would be in Marathon Man. There's a scene where Janeway "kills" two of the henchmen in an effort to save Babe (Dustin Hoffman). Soon after, it's revealed it was all a setup and he was tricked. He was using blanks and the knife was a retractable blade.
Now, in this example, the two guys die later on in the film anyway, both by gunshot. However, for terms of bodycount, how should the first two "deaths" be counted?
Also, if there are any films out there where a character has a "fake" death, regardless of how bloody or violent it is, but it turns out they did not actually die, would that be counted?
Thanks for any input you can all provide.

First, I want to personally thank you for asking before doing a count and causing trouble around here. We have several films that you can use as examples. My thoughts are if the director took the time to show a "kill" real, imagined, dreamed, or fake it still should get some recognition on the site. The final tally though should specify how many are "real" and how many are "fake." Examples: The Number 23Inside ManAnother example would be The Sting (hopefully I'm not dropping any spoilers). The fake kills would be tallied as "shown kills" but labeled as "fake." I hoped that helped. If not please feel free to let me now what you need clarified.

Also, since you are new here please place your counts on the "pending" board for now so that we can review it.
Thanks!!
