I started with Netflix, liked their speed of delivery, their huge inventory of movies, but not their price. When I lived in New Jersey, sometimes I would get movies two, sometimes even one, day after they received my returned DVD. That was because they had a distribution center very close by.
Plus, now they have more plans. Before they used to have a maximum of 4 out at any time. Now they have up to 8 out at any time.
Then I decided to switch to Blockbuster.com because they seemed to have more reasonable prices. (Now it's only slightly better than Netflix's.)
I've had some problems with Blockbuster.com. Their site isn't as detailed as Netflix. They have fewer user reviews. I've had at least two damaged DVDs delivered to me. And their delivery is a little slower (Netflix rules in this case, because of their bigger inventory and larger number of distribution centers, I'm guessing).
But, one thing that will keep me on Blockbuster.com is their program called TotalAccess. Basically, instead of mailing back the DVDs, you can take them to your local Blockbuster and trade them in for one movie per envelope. So if you have three to return, you get three free movies at Blockbuster--- AND they still mail out the next three movies in your queue. So you get six movies for the price of three.
There are still bugs in the system. The first time, the returned movies didn't update my account until a few days later. But I think it's getting better. So it might be worth it to stick with it, if any of you guys are looking for an online DVD rental service.
