i have a couple of questions. this is the original hitcher, the one with rutger hauer, and some elements of this film puzzle me.
for one, hauer is seen in a car with a family of four. the main character catches up to the car a few minutes later only to find it a bloody mess. it is no doubt that hauer slaughtered the lot, but no bodies are seen. what is seen is a substantial amount of blood. what would i count? would i count anything for that at all? it would be a shame not to count them.
also, the main character is chowing down on some grub at a diner, not really paying attention to what he is putting in his mouth. he almost puts a severed finger in his mouth, mistaking it for a french fry. im not sure if i would count a finger as a kill because i suppose it does technically constitute human remains but its also not exactly a body.
also, the main character is being chased by the cops. they are actively shooting at him and two cars flank his car on both sides. he quickly brakes and a cop from one car accidentally shoots the tires of the other cop car. both cop cars tumble and crash violently, no doubt killing all four cops. would i give the main character these kills because he caused their deaths, or would i give them to the stupid cop because he actually did the shooting?
counts with family film: 23 hauer: 18
counts without family film: 19 hauer: 14
your thoughts?
