I've been meaning to do this for a long time. Sorry I haven't checked in for a while, guys.
1. This was a crazy one to do a body count for. I paid particular attention to onscreen kills and cutaways. For dead bodies and piles, I counted only clearly distinguishable bodies. I was conservative in counting.
2. I just counted American deaths, and it closely matches with what was mentioned at one point in the move--- 40 KIA, and 2 MIA. This was mentioned before the last major battle. It was also mentioned somewhere in the movie that there were at least 1800 Vietnamese deaths.
3. Also, is it likely Greg Kinnear will have a page of his own? He did quite a few kills here in the chopper.

Then why is he not listed with the other characters that have counts??

Sorry, a bit rusty with body counts, I am. I started this a while ago but just finished it yesterday. Anyway Snakeshit had fewer counts than I thought, there was at least one other chopper present so I couldn't attribute all the kills to him.
This count is finished. Should I delete this post and re-post it in the queue?

I was working on this page when I just noticed this comment. Are you saying that the body count for this film is actually higher. If so I really do need those as well. "Mentioned" kills do not count.
I am a bit confused???

No, no, the count isn't higher. I only counted onscreen kills or cutaways to come up with my current count. I didn't include the "mentioned kills" in the body count.
I only mentioned the "mentioned kills" as a point of comparison. It would have been erroneous if I'd counted 70 bodies, for example, if there are only supposed to be 40 dead. I was just double checking to make sure my count wasn't more than what was mentioned. Same with the kills from the MVA and Vietcong. I only mentioned that there were 1800 kills mentioned in the movie to point out that my count was perfectly plausible.
Would you like me to indicate the breakdown of American and Vietnamese kills? Weirdly enough, I only counted 40 dead Americans. And I swear this was before I got the idea of comparing my count with the mentioned count.
