The last time I watched it (the 9 seconds cut R-rated Australian version, that is), I counted 96. I'm going to watch it right now and double-check. EDIT: I just re-read your post: Arnie's count is actually about 88, the total count is about 96. So the estimated 96 count isn't based off this version, and I need to buy a new Commando DVD without all these cuts, which leave out at least seven kills, and chop seconds off a variety of other confirmed kills. So, based off the 56 second cut version, here is the count: COMMANDO (1985) Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Vernon Wells, Bill Duke, Dan Hedaya, Alyssa Milano, Rae Dawn Chong Directed by the legendary Mark L. Lester Version: 56 seconds of cuts, original German DVD version By scene Garbage Men: 1 (1 shot, 1 by Duke) Car dealer: 1 (1 run over, 1 by Duke) Matrix's House: 3 (3 shot, 1 by Arnie) Plane: 1 (1 neck broken, 1 by Arnie) Shops: 3 (3 shot) Cliff: 1 (1 dropped, 1 by Arnie) Hotel: 1 (1 impaled, 1 by Arnie) Factory: 1 (1 neck broken, 1 by Arnie) Pier: 2 (2 shot, 2 by Arnie) Island: 74 (2 throat slit, 51 shot, 1 stabbed, 2 stabbed by circular blades, 5 blown up by grenades, 5 blown up by rocket launcher, 7 blown up by planted explosives, 1 impaled, all 74 by Arnie) Totals Body count: 88 Arnie: 81 Bill Duke: 2 By type Shot: 60 Blown up: 17 Stabbed: 3 Throat slit: 2 Neck broken: 2 Impaled: 2 Run over: 1 Fell to death: 1 Miscellaneous I included the three super-obvious dummies in the explosion scene as part of the count. The count does not include the two soldiers next to the glass table or the guy at the pier who probably would still be alive, or the two guys who jumped after the major explosion because they were far too far away to be dead. Also, for those wondering... the first of the 74 kills on the island happens at 1:06:50. The 73rd kill is at 1:15:01, giving us a kill every 6.7 seconds for over 8 minutes (on average). ... I'll try and get my hands on an uncut version and do a count for that, but there appears to be 4 or 5 different cut versions out there. I can't find the uncut version anywhere, which is really bugging me. For now, you'll have to only have the Region 2/4 master version showing 88, with Arnie having 81, but uncut versions will have between 7 and 11 more for Arnie and the count when we get around to it.
